TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department and the Toledo VA Outpatient Clinic are partnering to promote gun safety in the community by giving away free gun locks.
The locks are cable locks, which thread through the gun to prevent it from being loaded or fired. They also want to remind the public that they can purchase their own trigger locks or biometric safes.
Police said locks are an extra layer of safety when used with a gun safe or a lock box, adding that ammo should also be stored in a separate location.
