President Donald Trump will deploy 2,000 members of the National Guard to Los Angeles after two days of clashes over immigration raids, in a move that Gov. Gavin Newsom opposes.

Trump signed a memo to federalize 2,000 National Guardsmen, arguing the deployment is necessary to combat the “lawlessness” in Los Angeles.
