Efforts to stop people from illegally dumping tires and trash near the Michoud Boulevard I-10 exit seem to be making an impact. But, neighbors and city leaders say, there is still a long way to go.

The garbage collection company embroiled in a nationwide worker strike, also impacting trash collection in several Bay Area cities, has asked customers to continue leaving their bins outside.
