Elly De La Cruz has never shied away from a big stage. The Cincinnati Reds' series opener against the New York Yankees was no different.

Just two years after Reds' star shortstop Elly De La Cruz hit for the cycle on June 23, 2023, he was a double away from the cycle on Monday night. "I love it," Reds manager Terry Francona said.

It was immediately noticeable to some as De La Cruz represented the would-be game-winning run, and a player of his speed would have at least examined the possibility of running reaching third base.
