The Houston-based budget airline’s last flights out of the Harry Reid International Airport are next month, a spokesperson said.

Avelo Airlines is closing its base in Burbank and will eventually cease services at the Redmond Airport, as it expands operations on the East Coast. The airline currently provides direct flights from Redmond to Sonoma County,

The city of Eureka has decided to stop using Avelo Airlines. That’s because of its contract with the federal government for deportation flights.

People rallied outside the Portland International Jetport Saturday afternoon to voice concerns about Avelo airlines, which operates in Maine and has also conducted deportation flights in Arizona.
