Atlanta also had the Flames from 1972-80 before moving to Calgary. Atlanta is the only city in the NHL's modern history to have two teams relocate to different locations.

However, the Flames relocated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1980 after attendance issues. In 1999, the NHL returned to Atlanta as the Atlanta Thrashers began play in 1998-99.

The Atlanta Flames became the Calgary Flames in 1980 after eight seasons, while the Atlanta Thrashers turned into the Winnipeg Jets in 2011 after the NHL returned to Georgia in 1999.

To mark the occasion, the team is inviting fans to a special draft night watch party at State Farm Arena. Doors open at 7 p.m., with live coverage of the draft shown inside the arena until 11:30 p.m.

The Atlanta show will take place at State Farm Arena on Sept. 29. The tour, which will head to 34 cities across America, will feature special guests Tyga, Belly Kang Kushington, and NoCap.
