The injury saga extends beyond Diallo and Mainoo. Luke Shaw’s season woes are compounded by yet another setback, with no clear return date in sight, leaving United short on defensive options. Lisandro Martinez and Toby Collyer are also among the sidelined, with Martinez out until late 2025 and Collyer possibly returning a bit sooner, in March 2025.
Amad had a different idea. He drifted to the left as Bradley closed in. Without hesitation, Amad hit an audacious left-footed strike that curled across the box toward the far post, catching the keeper off guard who was selling out for the near post finish. Inexplicably, the ball caught the inside of the far post and bounced in.
