BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Jefferson County's Board of Registrars has created two redistricting maps for a February 14 public hearing, said Barry Stephenson, chairman of the board.

An Alabama attorney disputed an allegation that Jefferson County redrew its districts illegally. The attorney said the new map reflects the county’s population shifts.
