College Football Playoff, the first ever 12-team tournament in the history of the sport, is complete. The Ohio State Buckeyes have won the National Championship. Unfortunately that means we all have to wait nearly seven months before watching the next college football game.

The first 12-team College Football Playoff finished on Monday night with Ohio State beating Notre Dame 34-23 in Atlanta, Ga. The new 12-team playoff was a massive success, although the expanded field allows for more mulligans for every team and perhaps reduces the importance of some games.

The College Football Playoff board of managers met Sunday to discuss potential changes to the 12-team tournament’s format. According to Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger, the meeting ended without any decision being reached.

Las Vegas will host the 2027 College Football Playoff national championship game. The CFP made the announcement Friday, saying the title game will be played Monday, Jan. 25, 2027, at Allegiant Stadium.
