Last month, President Donald Trump announced that he wanted the White House to host a UFC match on the country’s 250th birthday.

Hours after Paramount and UFC announced a billion-dollar rights deal, Dana White said he had yet to hear from his friend, President Donald Trump, on his thoughts about the fight company’s new streaming home.

In July, Trump suggested the event could be a full "championship fight" and potentially host up to 25,000 spectators.

In a major early move under new ownership, Paramount has agreed to pay $7.7 billion for media rights to UFC’s mixed martial arts events in the U.S. Paramount said Monday that it has signed a seven-year deal with TKO Group Holdings that will put 13 marquee UFC events and 30 fight nights on streaming platform Paramount+ beginning next year.

"CBS Mornings" parent company Paramount has secured U.S. TV rights to UFC in a $7.7 billion deal. MoneyWatch correspondent Kelly O'Grady reports on what the move means for the league and its fans.

ESPN helped turn UFC into a $7 billion company. The promotion recently signed a new broadcast agreement with Paramount+, which includes featured events on CBS, in a seven-year commitment that kicks off in January 2026.
