Tuesday morning, bright and early, students were dressed in their crisp white shirts and ironed white Wranglers, making sure their dairy cows were ready to put their best hoof forward in the Dairy Cow Show at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

Despite freezing temperatures, visitors and young competitors flocked to the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo on Sunday.

While not an official term in any dictionary, the phrase has been repeated by many during the annual 23-day event. A combination of frigid temperatures during Fort Worth’s winter season and the stock show’s mid-January to early February window, means that most Stock Show events are particularly chilly.

With low temperatures forecast to drop into the 20s, people at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo were taking additional measures to stay warm.
