The St. Louis Cardinals' front office has been pushed into a corner concerning Erick Fedde's trade value, if it can even be called that.

Ball four to Ian Happ was a sweeper outside to load the bases, and the St. Louis Cardinals manager had seen enough. He knew before the game his starting pitcher would have a short leash, and with a rested bullpen and a scheduled off day on Monday, Marmol did not hesitate to give Fedde the hook.

Still, a team may be willing to overpay for a rental arm, which would allow the Cardinals to bring back a decent prospect or two to restock the farm system. Trading Fedde would also open up a rotation spot for prospect Michael McGreevy.

It sounds like St. Louis Cardinals fans aren't the only ones who want Michael McGreevy to get an extended look in the club's starting rotation. McGreevy is the Cardinals' No. 9 overall prospect and has impressed in short bursts with the big league club.
