(NEXSTAR) — Connor Zilisch edged out his teammate, Shane van Gisberge,n to take the checkered flag at Sonoma Raceway in the Pit Boss/FoodMaxx 250. In Zilisch’s third win of the season, the 18-year-old also made history by becoming the youngest ever driver to reach four career wins in the Xfinity Series.

Despite the uphill climb, Buescher embraces the challenge. He applauded the track’s unique character, noting that it’s not just a series of flat, cookie-cutter corners. It’s not a 90-degree corner followed by another 90-degree corner. Rather, according to him, Sonoma has a lot of really great rhythm sections.

For Zilisch, the victory was revenge for last Saturday’s Xfinity race at the Chicago Street Course, where the 36-year-old van Gisbergen ran his 18-year-old teammate wide in Turn 2 to take the lead and win a two-lap shootout for the victory.
