A 40-year-old mother was one of six people shot in a New York City convenience store when she was used as a shield by a suspected target, authorities said.

Six people were shot in a Bronx bodega on Monday, including a mom and her 12-year-old daughter who the intended targets of the shooting cruelly used as “human shields,” police said.

Six people, including a mother and her 12-year-old daughter, were shot on Monday during a targeted attack in the Bronx, the NYPD said. The shooting broke out just before 5 p.m. on the street outside of 3544 White Plains Road in Gunhill.
