Outer Banks, Hurricane Erin
Digest more
Hurricane Erin is churning slowly toward the eastern U.S. coast and stirring up waves that already have forced residents of North Carolina's Outer Banks to evacuate.
Beginning at noon Saturday, residents, property owners, and workers will be able to access NC12 at the Basnight Bridge.
On Thursday, Hurricane Erin was several hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina and pushing storm surge and deadly rip currents toward the shore. Three other systems may form right behind.
