Shedeur Sanders wasn't the only big-name rookie to make his anticipated NFL debut this weekend. A day after the Cleveland Browns quarterback spiced up his team's competition under center, Sanders' former Colorado teammate Travis Hunter took the field for his own 2025 opener,

• Mason Rudolph, not Aaron Rodgers, started at quarterback for the Steelers. That's not a big surprise, Rodgers' only preseason action since 2018 was a brief outing for the Jets two years ago. It's possible Rodgers won't play at all this preseason, even though he's with a new team. Rudolph completed 9-of-10 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Hunter joined the defense on the Steelers' second offensive drive. On his second snap, he had a chance to get his first tackle, but Steelers' RB Kaleb Johnson made him miss. Hunter's first defensive drive ended with no tackles on five snaps.
