The Detroit Lions thoroughly dominated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without many of their best defensive players on Monday Night football as they held off a late rally to secure a 24-9 victory at Ford Field.

Quarterback Jared Goff struggled significantly against the Buccaneers, turning in his worst fantasy performance since Week 18 of last season. Goff seemed a touch off on multiple throws, and struggled under pressure, losing a forced fumble early on in the game and throwing a puzzling interception just before halftime.

A superstar showing from Jahmyr Gibbs and an impressively stingy night from the short-handed defense led the Detroit Lions to victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jahmyr Gibbs was productive for the Lions in the first six weeks of the 2025 season, but none of those games featured the kind of dominant performance that has lifted Gibbs to the top of the list of running backs in the league.

The Bucs had done a good job containing running backs this year, outside of Bijan Robinson in Week 1. Through the first six weeks of the season, the Bucs had held lead backs to 86.5 total yards of offense. However, they gave up 222 to Gibbs in Week 7 alone.
