Tropical Storm Erin forecasted to become a hurricane Friday
Tropical Storm Erin is forecast to become a hurricane today. Erin is centered about 570 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands and moving WNW at 17 mph. On the forecast track, the center of Erin is likely to move near or just north of the northern Leeward Islands over the weekend.
The storm’s likely path is coming into focus, but a lot can still change. Here’s what the forecasters look at.
