As expected, Cam Newton’s opinion on taking his MVP award over a Super Bowl ring stirred up some folks on social media.

Cam Newton led the Carolina Panthers to a 15-1 record in the 2015 regular season and went on to Super Bowl 50, where they would lose to the Denver Broncos. Newton came just one game away from hoisting the Lombardi Trophy and earning a championship ring,

Newton played 11 seasons in the NFL and reached the Super Bowl once, which also happened to be his MVP season. He led the 2015 Panthers to a 15-1 regular season record and Super Bowl 50, which they lost 24-10 to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
