India has temporarily barred Jane Street Group LLC from accessing the local securities market for alleged index manipulation, dealing a severe hit to the US firm that made $4.3 billion in trading gains there in more than two years.

(Reuters) -Shares of some Indian stockbrokers and market intermediaries fell on Friday after the country's securities regulator barred U.S. trading firm Jane Street from the local market over alleged manipulation in derivatives trading.

India has banned the firm from the country’s financial markets and said it would seize around $570 million in profit for allegedly fraudulent trades.
