The Rev. Frederick Douglass Haynes III is expected to become the president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition on Sunday, taking the helm from outgoing civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson announced plans to step down as president of the Chicago-based Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the international human and civil rights organization he founded.

Jackson founded Operation PUSH in 1971. The civil rights organization became The Rainbow/PUSH in 1984 when Jackson first ran for president. He ran a second time in 1988.

Rainbow PUSH estimates the actor was there for a total of about 16 hours over two days. "I pray for him and am available for council," Jackson said. Smollett was facing 16 counts.
