A collection of striking vintage ski posters that hark back to a golden age of winter holidays are expected to fetch a whopping £1million at auction.

Auction house Christie’s holds its annual ski poster sale this Thursday, and along with growing interest in skiing as a sport, prices of popular early 20th Century posters have soared.

Celebrating 150 years of skiing in Switzerland, the auction will showcase posters for St Moritz and Zermatt along with rare adverts from France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Norway and Australia.
