Neighbors Take Opposition to Union Station Homeless Shelter to Court A new lawsuit accuses the city of breaking a series of promises in order to keep the 100-bed Northwest shelter open.

The city’s non-cop crisis response crew pulled up to Union Station Monday night to assist a 78-year-old man into a van headed towards a newly opened homeless shelter in the Hill.

“Before the crisis of the fires, we were already battling a lack of affordable housing,” Mario Galeano, vice president of development for Union Station Homeless Services, said on Monday, Jan. 14.
