One of the five Americans arrested for bringing ammunition to Turks and Caicos has pleaded guilty and is facing a minimum of 12 years in prison.

A 23-year-old tourist from Connecticut was snorkeling with a friend off Providenciales island in Turks and Caicos when she was attacked by a shark that bit off her leg.

One of several Americans recently charged with having ammunition in Turks and Caicos is expected to go home after a court issued a suspended sentence and fined him $2,000.
