According to Varney, Athwal is a suspect in the death of Dharampreet Singh Jassar, a 20-year-old clerk at the Tackle Box store who was gunned down Nov. 13.

The suspect, Athwal Singh appeared in Fresno County Superior Court, where his attorney entered a not guilty plea to charges of carrying a loaded firearm. His bail was set at $128,000.
