Yet, in Selangor, a vestige of this old world endures. Nestled off the highway in Sungai Besi, the Selangor Turf Club (STC), founded in 1896, stands tall as Malaysia’s last premier racecourse.

The Club Employees Union of Peninsular Malaysia claims the Penang Turf Club failed to negotiate termination benefits fairly.

The PTC, the oldest of the three horse-racing clubs in Malaysia, is expected to stage its final race meeting on May 31. Currently, PTC has two trainers and only eight horses in its stable.
