A West Allis man has been criminally charged in connection to a police chase involving a U-Haul van that ended in a crash on Oct. 16.

A man was taken into custody after leading police on a chase that ended in a multi-vehicle crash in El Monte. It happened just after 10 p.m. Tuesday. The pursuit lasted 20 minutes before the suspect crashed into two other cars near Santa Anita and East Garvey Avenue, according to the El Monte Police Department.

At one point during the chase, the suspect jumped out of the moving white van along the 110 Freeway near Highland Park, tried to jump over the freeway's center divider before getting hit by incoming traffic at full speed. The deadly crash ended up shutting down both lanes of the 110 Freeway.

A police chase in Muskego ended in a crash with the driver under arrest, and two other people injured on Saturday, Oct. 18.
