SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — An 81-year-old model fell short in her bid to become the oldest Miss Universe contestant after competing in the South Korean pageant against much younger rivals.

An 81-year-old South Korean fashion model fell short in her bid to become the oldest Miss Universe contestant. She did, however, take home the "best dresser" award.

On Monday, Choi will go head-to-head with 31 other contestants for the tiara — and a chance to represent South Korea at the Miss Universe final in Mexico this November.
