Microsoft Corp. plans to spend $80 billion this fiscal year building out data centers, underscoring the intense capital requirements of artificial intelligence.

Microsoft expects to spend $80 billion in fiscal 2025 to build data centers for AI workloads, as stated in the company’s blog post. Fortunetly, over half of this spending will occur in the U.S., according to Vice Chair Brad Smith.
