Governor Wes Moore has ordered both the United States and Maryland state flags to be flown at half-staff effective immediately, in honor of former President Jimmy Carter. The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on January 28,

President Biden previously ordered that flags fly at half-staff until Jan. 28 to honor former President Jimmy Carter.

Despite the national mourning period for the late Jimmy Carter, Washington's Gov. Bob Ferguson is directing flags to be raised Monday for Inauguration Day.
