The Chargers defense wouldn't be denied. Just past the midway point of the third quarter, the Bolts led by a field goal but the Titans faced third-and-goal from the 1-yard line. A Tennessee third-down run was stuffed when Khalil Mack brought down running back Tony Pollard for no gain.

The Titans dropped a 38-14 decision at the Indianapolis Colts last week to fall to 1-7. The defense continues to be hampered by injuries, with starters Jeffery Simmons, Arden Key and Xavier Woods all ruled out for the Chargers game.

Quarterback Justin Herbert fired a 19-yard touchdown pass to Quentin Johnston, putting Los Angeles ahead, 17-14. The score capped a six-play, 70-yard drive that took 3:27 off the clock. Once again, the Chargers did not even face a third down on their possession. Herbert connected with Ladd McConkey for gains of 21 and 16 on the drive.
