PARIS -- Jacques Chaban-Delmas, 85, a former French premier who unsuccessfully sought to become his country's president in 1974, died Nov. 10 at his home here after a heart attack.
The bridge is named after a Gaullist politician, Jacques Chaban-Delmas, who served for decades as Mayor of Bordeaux and was France's Prime Minister between 1969 and 1972.
