Windows 2000 looks for controller a to boot upon, and shits its lips when it cannot find it, instead finding b, a device it has no idea about (and this is the key part) because its a NEW device it ...
My system has had frequent random lockups for some time, so my last resort was reinstalling Win2k. Before I installed anything on it, it locked up and has locked up with the same frequency ever since.
