As Pope Leo XIV stepped out in front of cheering crowds outside of St. Peter’s Basilica to give his first speech as head of the Holy See, experts took note of a few subtle clues that may reveal what direction the Catholic Church will go under his leadership.

Celebrating Pope Leo XIV and his new spot in the Vatican Church, members of Saint Andrew Catholic Church off 37th Avenue North hung the yellow and white papal bunting above the church’s doorways. Father Priest Roger Morgan said the papal bunting represents a new pope.
