Maps show the expanse of the Post Fire near Gorman, the Sites Fire in Colusa County and other major blazes raging in California.
Gorman, the first US youth national poet laureate, released a poem on social media on Sunday about the devastating wildfires in LA County.

The Post and Hesperia fires both started Saturday, kicking off wildfire season in the Southland. On Sunday, a small brush fire in the Hollywood Hills near Pilgrimage Bridge was quickly knocked down.
Pyramid Lake is closed. Evacuation orders have been issued by the Los Angeles County Fire Department (see map) Areas west of Interstate 5 between Pyramid Lake and Gorman.

The fire started Saturday at Ralph’s Ranch and Gorman School roads, near the 5 Freeway, LACounty Fire Department spokesman said.
