The space telescope's image of a odd-looking spiral galaxy is, in reality, two distant galaxies overlapping each other.

Light from JADES-GS-z14-0 has taken 13.4 billion years to reach Earth, revealing a chemically mature galaxy when the universe was less than 300 million years old.

The strange sight is actually two galaxies, with the light of the second warped around the one at the front as a result of its massive gravity.
