Huge swathes of the Midwest, Great Plains, South, and Northeast are in the grips of a cold snap, with Freeze Warnings affecting 17 states and Frost Advisories stretching into New England.

For the second freeze warning, from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. MDT Sunday, temperatures as low as 35 degrees are expected. Areas affected include the Upper Gila River Valley and Eastern Cochise County.
