The company that makes the chocolate candy Toblerone plans to strip the candy’s wrappers of images of Switzerland’s famed mountain and the images of the Swiss flag.

VATICAN CITY (RNS) — With a determined gaze, Renato Peter clenched the flag of the Swiss Guard in his fist while holding up three fingers of his other hand in a salute to the Holy Trinity.

Unlike the other 25 Swiss cantons, the Jura flag was created in 1947, 32 years before the canton gained its sovereignty. This may explain the attachment of the people of Jura to their cantonal emblem.
