FAU's Charles E. Schmidt College of Science and its astronomical observatory is hosting the Solar Eclipse Community Viewing: Sidewalk Astronomy event on Monday, starting at 1:30 p.m.

A major share of the total of 94,090 plates is accounted for by the 40,000 photographic plates from the Dr. Karl Remeis Observatory Bamberg, Astronomical Institute of FAU.
