In honor of Donald, the fountain is called “The Fountain of the Duck.” Banners are attached to many of the light poles in the area as well. They are cartoon-style with the Donald’s Quacky Duck!

It also marks the 90th anniversary of the first Donald Duck cartoon. Marvel and Disney are honoring both events with a comic that asks an unlikely question.

An earlier Donald Duck cartoon from 1938, “Donald’s Better Self,” juxtaposes good and evil, as if preparing the American mindset for the struggle that would ensue between Fascism and freedom.
