The New York Jets have hired Aaron Glenn as their next head coach. Could he be heading back to New York as an award-winning boss? It's possible. Prior to Glenn being hired by the Jets, he spent the past four years as the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator.

He becomes the fifth NFL head coach to have a playing history with his current team, after Mike Vrabel (New England Patriots), Jim Harbaugh (Los Angeles Chargers), DeMeco Ryans (Houston Texans) and Dan Campbell, his most recent boss in Detroit.

Update: Jets are giving new head coach Aaron Glenn a five-year deal, per sources, contractually tying him to the organization through the 2029 season. Glenn will be under contract with the Jets through the 2029 season. That’s a solid contract length for a first-time head coach.
