MARTIN: His wife of more than 60 years, Virginia Newhart, died last year. Bob Newhart is survived by four children and their families and endless sitcom reruns, much loved.

Bob Newhart, who changed the comedy landscape in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s with his cerebral albums and innovative sitcoms, has died at 94.

That record, “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart,” would become one of the bestselling comedy albums of all time and would win a Grammy for album of the year in 1961.
