MANILA, Philippines — September has begun, and the season of atis (sugar apple, custard apple, or sweetsop) is on! It usually starts around this time and ends sometime in December.

MANILA, Philippines – Lobo, Batangas has over 500 hectares of farmland planted with sweet sugar apple trees. The tree’s fruit, popularly known as “atis,” is tended by over a thousand farmers.
