Chenango Valley sophomore Mack Patterson was also an overall and class state champion. He topped the Class B field in the shot put with a top distance of 59 feet, 10.75 inches that led all three classes. Patterson placed second in Class B in the boys discus with a throw of 169 feet, 11 inches, which ranked third overall.

For the first time in 49 years, the USC men's track and field team wins the NCAA outdoor title after winning the NCAA indoor title earlier this year.

The UUSC Trojans' Men's Track and Field took home a shared Outdoor Track and Field National Championship team title on Friday, June 13. The Trojans tied for first with Texas A&M with 41 points.
