A Boston Red Sox rookie who had some strong words about the New York Yankees earlier this season has suffered a huge injury.

Garrett Crochet finished off the first half of 2025 with a bang: a complete game shutout to extend the Red Sox' win streak to nine games.

In Crochet's first complete game of any sort, he allowed three hits, all singles, and struck out nine while not allowing a walk. “It’s incredibly satisfying,” he said.

The Fenway Park crowd erupted when ace Garrett Crochet jogged out of the Red Sox dugout to pitch the ninth inning with a 1-0 lead against the Rays on Saturday.
