In December 2003, Osbourne was involved in an accident while riding his four-wheel all-terrain vehicle at his English estate. As a result, he suffered fractures in eight ribs, a vertebra and his left collarbone. While speaking with Britain’s Sunday Mirror, the rock star said he "died" twice and was in a coma for eight days following the accident.

In recent years, as Osbourne battled Parkinson’s disease and underwent several spinal surgeries, the singer remained optimistic about giving fans one final performance. Osbourne was due to return to the stage in 2023 at the Power Trip festival, but that appearance was canceled due to medical issues.

Ozzy Osbourne will come out of touring retirement and reunite with the full Black Sabbath lineup for the first time in 20 years.

Scheduled for July 5 at Villa Park, the show will feature Osbourne playing a short solo set, followed by him joining Sabbath for what's described as his "final bow." There will also be performances by Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax and Mastodon.
