MLB Draft has completed the first 10 rounds and Mississippi State fans should be happy.Very happy. As previously noted, it’s rare for a player drafted in the first 10 rounds doesn’t sign a professional contract.
The Los Angeles Angels shocked observers by taking UC Santa Barbara pitcher Tyler Bremner at No. 2 overall. The Seattle Mariners took LSU left-hander Kade Anderson, who helped his team win the 2025 College World Series, at No. 3 while the Colorado Rockies selected Ethan Holliday, son of former star outfielder Matt Holliday, at No. 4.
Purvis’ JoJo Parker (Toronto Blue Jays, Round 1) was viewed as a longshot to play at MSU because of his high pre-draft ranking. East Union’s Landon Harmon (Washington Nationals, Round 3) was also projected to be a high draft pick.
Jacob Parker is the twin brother of JoJo Parker, who was the 8th overall pick of day 1. It was anticipated that Jacob would be selected early in the draft, but in a turn of events, his future became less clear as the rounds went on. Arizona picked him up in round 19.
