Interim Seattle police Chief Sue Rahr announced Monday that she has fired Kevin Dave, the officer who killed Jaahnavi Kandula in a South Lake Union crosswalk while speeding in his cruiser.

Jaahnavi Kandula was crossing the street at a crosswalk when she was struck by a police cruiser being driven by officer Kevin Dave in January 2023

SEATTLE, WA – Interim Seattle Police Chief Sue Rahr announced on January 6 that she has terminated Officer Kevin Dave, who struck and killed 23-year-old Jaahnavi Kandula in January 2023 while speeding in his patrol car.
