The Maine Senate candidate told the Associated Press he opted to cover it in the interest of time, adding, “I wanted this thing off my body.”

Graham Platner, a Democratic candidate for US Senate in Maine, said Wednesday that a tattoo on his chest has been covered to no longer reflect an image widely recognized as a Nazi symbol.

His former political director, Genevieve McDonald, who resigned from his campaign last week, called the tattoo antisemitic.
