Hi everyone. I will be five months pregnant and want to inquire about thoughts on going on a Jeep safari in Wilpattu. I've heard mixed things but unsure of the road/Jeep/bumpiness and mainly I wanted to know if anyone did the Safari while being pregnant. I have been on the Safari in other parts of Sri Lanka and was obviously not pregnant. Look forward to some feedback.

You are allowed to take your own private jeep, i would not recommend taking a van inside the park. A van will limit the area that can be coverage inside the park. If you are planning on taking a private jeep, inside the park, then you will have to pay and take a licensed tracker. There are trackers assigned to the park officials at the gate. However, I do recommend renting a vehicle. I spent the whole day insider the park, and it costed me Rs. 8,000/= or so for the jeep, apart from the park tickets. Used an experience tracker by name of Ajith. You may contact him on +94 77 636 9182
